Let the perk solve a cooking delay

SpongeBob’s contribution is specific: more patty preparation and automatic flipping. That is useful when cooking repeatedly holds up your solo routine or the crew’s kitchen. It does not take orders, assemble the requested toppings or deliver a tray for you.

Use this gameplay for the restaurant context around a cooking job. Keep the class’s actual perk separate from the player’s choices in the rest of the shift.

Keep the fryer and assembly in the routine

Automatic patty flipping reduces one source of grill trouble, but Coral Bits can still cause fryer fires. Continue attending to the food and stations that the perk does not cover. A larger stack of patties is useful only when the requested meals are assembled and sent to the correct customers.

In co-op, make it clear who is cooking and who is completing drinks, delivery or cleanup. The perk gives that cooking assignment a stronger contribution; it does not make the dining room somebody else’s problem by itself.

Decide whether to save for the unlock

At 2,500 Doubloons, SpongeBob is a longer saving project than an early character such as Jim. If you enjoy the kitchen job and keep losing time to patty preparation, saving has a clear purpose. If another task is the real problem, compare the other class roles before treating the most expensive cook as the only useful purchase.
